Renowned for the sonic perfection and artistic excellence of its opera productions, Decca Classics today presents a new deluxe edition of one of the label's most celebrated opera recordings, marking the centenary of Giacomo Puccini's death.
For the re-release of this recording of 'La Bohème', widely considered the benchmark of the repertoire, featuring Luciano Pavarotti and Mirella Freni as Rodolfo and Mimi, and Herbert von Karajan conducting, Decca has created new 24-bit 192 kHz high-definition transfers from the original 1972 tapes.
This vinyl edition includes:
• two discs cut at Abbey Road Studios and pressed on 180g vinyl,
• a meticulously documented and illustrated hardcover book,
• an A3 collector's poster in 1920s style
All presented in a deluxe linen-bound rigid slipcase.
