Following the release of her latest album, *The Wind that Shakes the Barley*, Canadian singer-songwriter Loreena McKennitt will visit several countries in early 2011. During this "promotional tour," she will perform a one-hour concert in the studios of German radio station SWR1, accompanied by Brian Hughes on guitar and Caroline Lavelle on cello, two musicians who have long contributed to the artist's albums and tours. During this evening, Loreena will perform tracks from her new album, as well as traditional songs and some of her most popular titles from her album catalog, notably "The Lady of Shalott," "Bonny Portmore," and "The Bonny Swans." This is how the new album, *Troubadours on the Rhine*, was born, to be released worldwide at the end of February on the artist's independent label, Quinlan Road, on CD and as downloadable music files. The distribution of this album will be handled by Universal Music in Canada, the Verve Records label in the United States, and various distributors in Europe. The recording of this concert is released as is, meaning without any studio sound recording, no added tracks, and no corrections. "This album is very different from the others," says the artist. "It was like playing an intimate private concert in the comfort of my living room for a small group of friends."
