Description

To celebrate their forty years, the group Canzoniere has assembled a dream team! Ian Brennan as producer (Grammy 2012 for the album "Tassili" by Tinariwen). Pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi wrote the music for "Taranta" with Mauro Durante, on which he plays piano. Writer Erri De Luca wrote "Solo Andata" (One-Way), a song that addresses the difficult subject of immigrants arriving in Italy after a long and dangerous journey, brilliantly represented in a video by Alessandro Gassman and which won the "Art and Human Rights Award" 2014 from Amnesty International Italy. "Quaranta" is the realization of a journey initiated by Daniele Durante in 1975, but also the third album since his son Mauro Durante took over the direction of the group in 2007, giving it new life. "Quaranta": overlapping voices taking you on a journey through an ancestral past, hypnotic and irresistible rhythms, sweet and delicate ballads; An album where violin, tambourine, strings, accordion, and wind instruments create an unpredictable musical solution that blends the past and the present.
