Lisa Batiashvili and the Staatskapelle Berlin present under the direction of Daniel Barenboim unique and unforgettable interpretations of the violin concertos by Tchaikovsky and Sibelius, two of the most appreciated works, but also among the most demanding in the violin and orchestra repertoire. The collaboration between the two musicians began after Barenboim called the violinist, captivated by her televised performance of the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Their version of the concerto revitalizes the work, remaining true to the score. This album is also the first recording of the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto for Barenboim and Batiashvili - their interpretation of the work at the Royal Festival Hall in 2015 with the same Staatskapelle Berlin was described as "flawless, captivating, and electrifying" by The Guardian.
