Les Wampas have always had a knack for releasing good albums. On Évangélisti (named after a legendary jouster), we navigate with the same pleasure in Wampasien rock'n'roll-yéyé-garage-punk. In 14 tracks, Didier and his band take us to East Germany (“Patricia”) wearing a Pierre Boulez t-shirt (“Electrodoowop”) and a pink thong (“The return of the little Daewoo”). It also talks a bit about sex (“Les Fesses des Belges”) and Gaétan Roussel (“Even the greatest have moments of weakness”). Finally, as a good cycling fan, Didier rolls out a perfect lovesong drawing from cycling jargon (“Baby suce ma roue”). With Évangélisti, Les Wampas deliver pure Wampas. It's been years that it works this way and it’s not in 2017 that we are going to start complaining about it.
