Larry Young’s final album for Blue Note, ‘Mother Ship,’ recorded in 1969, bursts with unbridled kinetic energy while delivering deeply soulful grooves. Released in 1980, this set of Young’s original compositions featured Lee Morgan (trumpet), Herbert Morgan (saxophone) and Eddie Gladden (drums). This all-analog, stereo Tone Poet Edition was mastered by K. Gray from the original master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl, and presented in a deluxe gatefold jacket.
