In a bold and hypnotic homage to Detroit’s avant-rock roots, drummer Larry Mullins (aka Toby Dammit) and legendary bassist Mike Watt revisit The Stooges’ cult mantra, “We Will Fall,” in a nearly 40-minute work. This project transforms the 1969 original into a sonic ritual of repetition, tension, and raw atmosphere. Mullins, a collaborator with Iggy Pop, Swans, and Nick Cave, weaves a minimalist universe of shruti box, Moog, tabla, and gongs, while Watt evolves his iconic bass from a subtle pulse to a full-blown trance. More than a cover, it’s an invocation: both a séance, a procession, and a free exploration of sound and spirit.
