Albert King is one of the few bluesmen who managed to make a name for himself in the black music charts. Recorded between March '66 and June '67 at Stax Records, "Born Under A Bad Sign" is a best of in itself, with its funky rhythm, King just has to lay down his singing and guitar in a sober style, but with incredible effectiveness. His singing is moving, his voice perfectly placed with a never forced vibrato, ideally extended by his guitar playing.
