Originally scheduled for release on May 8th
Recorded in 1964, Trompeta Toccata wasn't released on Blue Note until 1965. Surrounded by great jazzmen like Joe Henderson (Saxophone), Richard Davis (Double Bass), Albert Heath (Drums), and the immense Tommy Flanagan, Kenny Dorham delivers one of his most accomplished albums. This 180-gram vinyl reissue was specially remastered in 2006 by jazz sound engineer Rudy Van Gelder.
Considered a classic of the genre, much like his brilliant Una Mas, this opus is an eccentric mix of bluesy and more Latin tracks, allowing the trumpet genius to indulge in some well-felt solos.
