The young American artist once again showcases her talent through a new album with a mystical and celestial ambient sound. Being Yoko Ono's pianist, performing at the 25th Tibet Benefit House alongside Philip Glass and The Flaming Lips, releasing an EP (Rosabi), working on a rearrangement of Bach's Adagio, and preparing an album all at the same time? JULIANNA BARWICK clearly doesn't have time to be bored. It is in this dynamic that the Brooklyn artist prepared her third album, Will, which will be released on Dead Oceans on May 6, 2016. While Nepenthe evoked calm, misty mountain landscapes, Will instead suggests a storm, producing sounds that are both unsettling and regenerative. Her familiar clerical voice is now joined by an ethereal synth. We also note the presence of THOMAS ARSENAULT (aka Mas Ysa), whose rich and complex voice accompanies Barwick's in Same and Someway. Will is undeniably new proof of JULIANNA BARWICK's talent as a composer and singer.
