Ole - Vinyle Bleu

Description

Olé is the ninth album by jazz musician John Coltrane, released in 1961 on Atlantic Records. The album was recorded at A&R Studios in New York City, and is Coltrane's last album for Atlantic to be made under his own direction. Coltrane's interest in Spanish music, evident in Olé, may have been stimulated by his former employer Miles Davis' Sketches Of Spain. The structure and melody of the modal jazz vamp in "Olé" was borrowed from the Spanish folk song "El Vito" (perhaps better known as "El Quinto Regimiento"), while the soprano saxophone recalls "My Favorite Things." Limited edition blue vinyl.
