Africa/Brass, John Coltrane's first album for the Impulse! label, released in 1961, marked a decisive turning point in his discography, expanding the saxophonist's usual quartet into a large ensemble. With major contributions from Booker Little, Freddie Hubbard, Reggie Workman, Elvin Jones, among others, Africa/Brass redefined the very idea of a "big band." Acoustic Sounds edition on 180g vinyl, remastered from original analog tapes, presented in a gatefold sleeve.
