Joe Bonamassa has always spoken with incredible fondness about legendary producer Tom Dowd, who worked with a veritable who's who of music superstars (Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rod Stewart, Wishbone Ash, New Model Army, Cream, Chicago, the Allman Brothers Band, Willie Nelson, Diana Ross, Eagles, Charles Mingus, Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin, Primal Scream…). Joe was obviously delighted when Tom agreed to produce his debut album, "A New Day Yesterday," twenty years ago. However, over time, Joe's vocal style has progressed enormously. He has gone from a screaming teenager to a very mature and soulful singer, capable of transcending all emotions. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of "A New Day Yesterday," Joe re-recorded all the vocals without losing the original atmosphere of the album. This album is accompanied by 3 bonus tracks from that era and bears a fitting new title: "A New Day Now - 20th Anniversary."
