In C Live At Philharmonie De Paris

Description

On June 13, 2024, Joakim and six guest musicians performed Terry Riley's In C to a sold-out audience at the Philharmonie de Paris. This live performance was recorded to capture the event. The guest musicians were Amosphere, Apollo Noir, Canblaster, Narumi Herisson, Joseph Schiano di Lombo, and Frédéric Soulard. Each used their own synthesizers, creating a unique electronic version of the chamber orchestra. Historic instruments like the Philicorda and the ARP 2600 blended with modern instruments like the Osmose and Eurorack modular systems. The musicians were arranged in a circle on the floor, with Joakim in the center, inviting the audience to move around the circle to explore a variety of sounds depending on their position. Composed in 1964, In C remains a foundational work of minimalism. This reinvented version is both electronic and organically rich, offering a new interpretation of this revolutionary composition. "In C" is a minimalist musical work by Terry Riley, composed in 1964. It consists of 53 motifs freely repeated by a variable number of musicians. This piece, often considered a cornerstone of minimalism, had a strong impact on the audience.
