John Weldon "J.J." Cale was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Although he shunned the spotlight (being temperamentally reluctant to fame), his influence as a musical artist has been widely recognized by artists such as Mark Knopfler, Neil Young, and Eric Clapton, who described him as one of the most important artists in the history of rock. J.J. Cale is considered one of the pioneers of the Tulsa Sound, a loose genre drawing from blues, rockabilly, country, and jazz. Cale unfortunately passed away in 2013, but his legacy endures. Number 10 is Cale's tenth album and features another wonderful laid-back/sweet collection of typical J.J. Cale tracks. "Traces," "Artificial Paradise," "Low Rides," and "Jailes" are considered to be among his best songs from the 1990s.
