The Tulsa Sound Box brings together JJ Cale's first 8 albums ('Naturally', 'Really', 'Okie', 'Troubadour', '5', 'Shades', 'Grasshopper', '#8') in a magnificent box set, remastered at Abbey Road Studios and re-released on colored vinyl.
The box set also includes a selection of 1960s singles on a bonus LP 'The Early Years', a 40-page book with rare and previously unreleased images, and a foreword by Mark Knopfler.
For Eric Clapton, J.J. Cale is "one of the most important artists in rock history (...) He was an incredible source of inspiration for me. His records are truly minimal, light, full of finesse. It's like he's whispering in your ear."
Neil Young, along with Jimi Hendrix, calls him "one of the best electric guitarists."
Tom Petty describes him as one of his favorite songwriters.
"JJ Cale made me fall in love with the guitar, and made me want to play it. But the most important thing for me, I think, is the songwriter in him." - Mark Knopfler
