Dutch jazz diva Fay Claassen teams up with talented Belgian singer-songwriter and long-time Parisian David Linx on And Still We Sing, a magnificent collaboration with the WDR Big Band, led by Magnus Lindgren. The title of this album by Claassen and Linx (who sang together on One Heart, Three Voices, 2005) is a paraphrase of one of Maya Angelou’s most famous poems: "And Still I Rise." Claassen brings her crystal-clear performance to the program, blending her magnificent voice with that of Linx, a unique jazz talent who has gained renown throughout Europe and on the American jazz scene, and who is a Victoire de la Musique award winner. Produced by WDR tenor saxophonist (and Claassen’s husband) Paul Heller, And Still We Sing features big band arrangements by Heller, Lindgren, Bob Mintzer, and Michael Abene.
