Isengard is the solo project launched in 1989 by Fenriz, one of the driving forces behind Norwegian legends Darkthrone, because he had many musical ideas to explore that did not strictly fit with Darkthrone's style and music. Under the name Isengard, Fenriz released three albums: "Vinterskugge," "Høstmørke," and, most recently, a new collection of old and rare recordings by Fenriz, released in 2020 as "Varjevndogn." This vinyl edition contains the first chapter of the album "Vinterskugge," featuring the masterful tracks from "Vandreren" which became a source of inspiration for an entire generation thanks to its epic folk-tinged Viking anthems, among its dark atmospheric pieces and an extra dose of sinister black metal.
