MAXI THE VICEROYS "TEARS ARE FALLING" / CEDRIC MYTON "FISHERMAN"
Description
The Viceroys – Tears are falling
The beauty of the vocals and the group's energy are once again sublimated by The Viceroys. This essential trio of the reggae scene. Led by "Bobo", whose real name is Neville Ingram, this track, originally released in 1984 on the album Chancery Lane, takes on a new dimension, notably thanks to the magical touch of Franklyn "Bubbler" Waul on piano. Its author, Wesley Tinglin, a character touching in his sincerity and humanism, unfortunately did not live to see the release of this version, having succumbed to cancer in September 2018 as the mixing was being completed. May the record pay him a final tribute and honor his music.
Cedric Myton – Row Fisherman
"Row Fisherman" is one of those timeless reggae anthems.
The exuberant Cedric Myton, shaped by more than 72 springs (!), reinterprets it here in a unique, acoustic way, recorded in the hills of Kingston.
Originally, the title opened The Congos' album "Heart of the Congos", produced by Lee Perry in 1977, which is considered one of reggae's gems.
In 2019, this new version pays a vibrant tribute to an entire island and an entire people.
