Description

Following the success of their 2017 album ("The Soul of Jamaica"), and a sold-out first tour in France (including the now legendary concerts at the Philharmonie and the Trianon in Paris), the collective of magnificent legends, INNA DE YARD, returns with a new, landmark album. This time, they revisit their most iconic tracks. Still united around four main singers (Ken Boothe, Cedric Myton, Winston McAnuff, and Kiddus I), INNA DE YARD also brings together the septuagenarian trio The Viceroys, as well as the younger generation (Var, Kush, Derajah) who seek to perpetuate this original musical tradition. Several guests joined these exceptional sessions: Horace Andy, Judy Mowatt (former backing vocalist for Bob Marley), and the young Jah9. Captivated by the authenticity and deep humanity of this project, English director PETER WEBBER (3 Oscar nominations for "Girl with a Pearl Earring," among others) shot a film during their recording in Jamaica. The film will have a worldwide release this summer and will be shown in around a hundred cinemas in France on July 10 (distributed by LE PACTE). The collective will be on a European tour in June, including a stop at the OLYMPIA in Paris, and a launch at MIDEM in Cannes.
