Immanuel Wilkins, a young 22-year-old saxophonist, unveils his very first album Omega on Blue Note. Produced by Jason Moran and featuring Wilkins' quartet with Micah Thomas on piano, Daryl Johns on double bass, and Kweku Sumbry on drums. Omega is the artist's first work reflecting the lives of Black people in the United States. The album is both historical and committed at a time when many American cities are rebelling in response to the recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery. With his music, Immanuel Wilkins aims to connect with his audience through his strong values rooted in spirituality.
