For the first time on vinyl, the last album by Ibrahim Ferrer, the great Cuban singer and star of Buena Vista Social Club. The project he dreamed of his entire life – an album dedicated to the most romantic of all Cuban music styles: the bolero. Mi Sueno is an intimate album arranged by Roberto Fonseca, the brilliant young pianist with whom Ibrahim Ferrer had developed a deep musical understanding. Recorded in Havana in 2004 – the year before his death – with a wonderful small group featuring Manuel Galbán on guitar and Cachaíto López on bass, the album delivers a very personal vision of the bolero style – deeply traditional and at the same time surprisingly modern. Full of passion and tenderness but always with an inimitable swing, Ibrahim revisits Cuban standards and makes them his own to create fresh and atmospheric works.
