At 21, Hoshi is a diamond in the rough who grew up listening to Nirvana, Noir Désir, Gainsbourg, Patti Smith, Jacques Brel... "When I was fourteen, watching a shooting star, I made a wish to make it in music." Mathilde then took the name Hoshi, which means "star" in Japanese. After a critically acclaimed first EP released in May 2017, Hoshi was described as the "talent of the season" (Paris Match) and "one of the most promising young artists of the moment" (Auféminin). This debut album, produced by Tristan Salvati, will be released on March 23, 2018, featuring 12 tracks ranging from raw French rock to luminous pop. By evoking her loved ones ("Poupée russe," dedicated to her grandmother of Slavic origin; "Ma merveille," for her mother), her chaotic journey ("Comment je vais faire," "Il suffit d'y croire"), or her loves ("Ta marinière," "Je vous trouve un charme fou," co-written with Gaëtan Roussel), and thanks to "a raw, powerful, and truly astonishing voice" (Elle), Hoshi possesses the rare art of drawing us into her world.
