Movies is the first album released by HOLGER CZUKAY, a student of the immense Karlheinz Stockhausen, after leaving the famous krautrock band Can, where he was the bassist and co-founder. In this 1979 album, the bassist explores various progressive rock instrumentations, experimenting with samples of soundtracks from films, television, and other short recordings, much like his mentor, reminiscent of what one might find in the work of David Byrne or Brian Eno. Gronland offers us the chance to rediscover the works of one of the cornerstones of experimental electronic music by releasing today a new version of Movies, renamed Movie!. The album has been reworked, noticeably re-arranged, and features new artwork.
