Since their formation in 2016, London’s High Vis have consistently refined their progressive hardcore palette with shades of post-punk, Brit-pop, neo-psychedelia and even Madchester groove, carving a mid-path between hooks and fury, melodies and mosh pits. The band’s deep roots in the UK and Irish DIY hardcore scenes has kept them grounded whilst growing, inspired by both agitation and righteous anger. Guided Tour sounds like a band reaching new heights, bursting with energy. Recorded over a few weeks in London with producer Jonah Falco and engineer Stanley Gravett (who also helmed the sessions for High Vis’ previous record, Blending, 2022), the result is dynamic and well-oiled, like anthems etched into memory through sweat and repetition. The album’s 11 songs cover the spectrum of contemporary guitar music. From street punk to indie sneer to alt-heavy to shoegazey spoken word, the band’s alchemy carries any style to their unique intensity.
