Since their formation in 2016, Londoners High Vis have steadily honed their palette of progressive hardcore with shades of post-punk, Brit-pop, neo-psychedelia, and even Madchester groove, charting a middle path between hooks and fury, melodies and mosh pits. The band is deeply rooted in the UK and Irish DIY hardcore scenes, which has allowed them to remain grounded while growing, inspired by both unrest and righteous anger. Guided Tour sounds like a band reaching new heights, bursting with energy. Recorded over a few weeks in London with producer Jonah Falco and engineer Stanley Gravett (who also helmed the sessions for High Vis’s previous album, Blending, 2022), the result is dynamic and well-oiled, like anthems etched into memory through sweat and repetition. The album’s 11 songs cover the spectrum of contemporary guitar music.
