A prominent figure in the British Free Jazz scene, Harry Beckett would become a pillar of the genre alongside his collaborator John Surman. The trumpeter first gained recognition by accompanying the legendary Charles Mingus in the early 60s. He would also play for numerous giants of Jazz, as well as Pop, Blues, and even the dub of Jah Wobble.
