Parisian band HANGMAN'S CHAIR are back in 2015 with their fourth album "This is not supposed to be positive", still produced by Francis Caste (Studio Sainte Marthe).Over time and through their albums, their early stoner and doom influences gradually fade to make way for their own style with colder, more stripped-down tracks, but always with the same heaviness and increasingly more vocal melodies, delivered by the fabulous voice of singer/guitarist Cédric, reminiscent of 90s down-tempo hardcore bands like LIFE OF AGONY, ONLY LIVING WITNESS or SECTION 8.Of course, the shadow of ALICE IN CHAINS still looms over the band, but there are also increasingly more gothic-metal escapes that can evoke TYPE O NEGATIVE or even THE CURE. With this new opus, HANGMAN'S CHAIR simply establishes itself as the French reference in stoner/doom.
