The triptych Mysterium, Universalis, and Silencia, begun in 2017 and completed in 2019, marks a major turning point in their journey. Born from the brutal bereavement of Byrd's nephew, Mysterium explores irreparable loss. Universalis attempts to grasp its meaning, while Silencia anchors itself in a reality transformed by silence. This trilogy, imbued with pure emotion, established itself as a pivotal work in their discography. With Elsewhere, Hammock returns to the heart of post-pandemic isolation, with each member recording from home, with limited resources. The album evokes unanswered absences, imposed distances, and the desire for escape. It offers no escape, but a clear reminder: it's time to live, rather than waiting to be elsewhere.
