Golden Earring

Description

The 1970 self-titled album by Dutch rockers 'Golden Earring' showed the band embarking on a harder, rougher musical journey than their previous work. Clearly influenced by bands such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and The Doors, the group transitioned from a 1960s band of musicians to a 1970s rock band. The new (and still current) quartet lineup, led by charismatic singer Barry Hay, was crowned with success. 'Golden Earring' includes their single "Back Home", which peaked at number one on the Dutch charts. Blues rock and hard rock are combined on tracks such as "I'm Going to Send My Pigeons to the Sky" and "As Long as the Wind Blows". It is the beginning of the decade in which they recorded some of their best albums.
