Back in trio formation, London rock band Goat Girl present 'Below The Waste', their third album following 'Goat Girl' (2018) and 'On All Fours' (2021) on Rough Trade Records. The trio, made up of Rosy Jones, Lottie Pendlebury, and Holly Mullineau, appear more self-assured than ever, closely involved in the artistic direction and production of the album's 16 tracks alongside John 'Spud' Murphy (black midi, Lankum). Asserting a more mature facet of their music without losing its bite, Goat Girl develop an ever more distinct sonic palette on 'Below The Waste', skillfully venturing between noise rock, delicate folk experimentations, and catchy synth-pop melodies. An album of avant-garde and expansive compositions seeking to highlight the hidden, depraved, and disposable aspects of our increasingly dystopian daily environment.
