The masters of Norwegian progressive rock return with their new album Magic 8-Ball. After a five-year pause since Fireworker, this new opus offers eight tracks around the theme of fate: how it imposes itself without warning and how our choices gradually transform us. Each song presents itself as a complete story, a moment where everything changes. Inspired by the paradox of the Ship of Theseus, the album questions: if one loses fragments of oneself over time, does one still remain the same person? The title Magic 8-Ball illustrates this tension between chance and inevitability: shaking the ball to get answers one already senses, and repeating the cycle, a symbol of infinity. Musically, Gazpacho remains true to its DNA: atmospheric, cinematic and emotional, but here more direct and stripped down. Eight clear narratives, driven by tension and clarity. The album was mixed by Thomas Juth (aha, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Cat Stevens) and mastered by Hans Olsson. Considered one of the most visionary groups on the progressive scene, Gazpacho continues to fascinate with its unique art of conceptual and immersive storytelling.
