GLASS BOYS

Description

Fucked Up Glass Boys Rarely has a band name so perfectly encapsulated its music. A blend of chaos, stupor, and rage – Les Inrocks From Pitchfork and NME to Les Inrocks, most music magazines agree on Fucked Up's many merits. Since their debut in 2001, the Toronto band has managed to make punk rock, a genre long disparaged, credible and interesting again. The band sets itself apart from its peers through its song development and overall musicality, quickly becoming a benchmark for hardcore punk fans. Three years after the release of their punk-opera, *David Comes To Life*, the Canadian band Fucked Up is releasing its fourth album, *Glass Boys*. Recorded over thirteen months between Canada and the United States, and for the first time in analog, *Glass Boys* was recorded with producer Bill Skibble, known for his work on albums by The Dead Weather, The Kills, and Lower Dens. The first single, recently unveiled online, proves that the band hasn't lost any energy or melodic power; however, the album is steeped in a romantic atmosphere, with Damian Abraham's growl even softened here! The themes explored revolve around the duality of being a young father and being in a punk band. Nevertheless, *Glass Boys* remains epic, sonic, noisy, and breathes some life into a movement that deserved a good, thorough dusting off.
