Iconic trumpet player Freddie Hubbard began playing with the greats early on, including Wes Montgomery, Eric Dolphy, and Ornette Coleman. But it was alongside Art Blakey that this virtuoso encountered Hard Bop and eventually became one of its most prominent figures. Recorded in 1962, this album was not released by Blue Note until 1976. This vinyl reissue features virtuosos such as W. Shorter, C. Walton, R. Workman, and P. Joe Jones.
