The Dubliners are back with their most accomplished album to date, Skinty Fia!
In 2020, Fontaines D.C. landed a #2 UK album with A Hero's Death, garnered GRAMMY, BRIT & Ivor Novello nominations, and sold out London's Alexandra Palace. Now, the band returns with their third record in as many years: Skinty Fia. Used colloquially as an expletive, the title roughly translates from the Irish language to "the damnation of the deer"; the spelling has been roughly anglicized, and its meaning has become diluted over generations. Simultaneously a bittersweet romance and a somber political triumph, the songs ultimately form a long-distance love letter, bemoaning an increasingly privatized culture that is at risk of disappearing, much like the giant Irish deer.
