Barely a year after the release of their critically acclaimed, Mercury Prize-nominated debut album "Dogrel," which was also voted BBC 6Music's Album of the Year 2019, the Fontaines D.C. lads are back, confident in their abilities, with a second opus that is both patient and complex. "A Hero's Death" is a bruised yet beautiful album; a philosophical and captivating vision of the modern world and the uncertainty within it. Regarding the eponymous title track, Grian explains, "I wrote those lyrics at a time when I was consumed by the need to write something else to appease the fear that I could never live up to 'Dogrel.' But more generally, it's about the battle between happiness and depression, and the trust issues that can arise in connection with those two feelings."
