Recorded during a particularly prolific period for Erroll Garner, these 14 completely new tracks - after spending nearly 50 years on acetate discs - have been recently discovered and restored. Erroll Garner (1921 - 1977), surrounded by his usual collaborators [Jimmie Smith and Joe Cocuzzo (drums), Ernest McCarty, Jr., Ike Isaacs, and George Duvivier (double bass), Jose Mangual (percussion)] goes take after take through some of the most beautiful interpretations of his career. You can also hear Martha Glaser, his faithful manager and producer, who from the control room discusses the different takes and jokes with Erroll. A sort of fifth member of the quartet, she supports Erroll during these intense moments of creation. The album title, which comes from her recurring phrase at the beginning of each piece: "Ready? Take One."
