Death after Life, Thug Entrancer's debut album on the Software label, is the alias of Ryan McRyhew, a Denver musician who later moved to Chicago, where he drew inspiration from the city's rich musical history. The album, sharp and icy, is an experiment in hybrid dance and electronic music, structured into 8 chapters exploring the darker currents of Chicago's music. Most of the tracks were written and recorded improvisationally with very few samples and post-production.
