The collaborative project eMMplekz, the fruit of the collaboration between Baron Mordant and Ekoplekz, had its ups and downs between 2012 and 2016, delivering some of their most accomplished works for the Mordant Music label. Baron had finally found his voice in a dumpster behind a discount store and gave free rein to his acrid alphabet on Ekoplekz's saturated electronic battlefield... Escher-esque lyrical abstractions, married to Cy Twombly-esque soundscapes, at a time when perhaps only the Sleaford Mods, with more commercial success, were exploring similar ground... The project ended on a high note with the album "Rook to TN34" and the refrain "Cheers mate, bye" that resonated everywhere...
