'La Souterraine': a poignant quest where light is born from chaos
Emily Loizeau, collaborating with John Parish, recorded "La Souterraine" in ten days at Rockfield Studios. This project, commissioned by Fabrice Melquiot, explores themes of loss of control and the search for love amidst a chaotic world. Loizeau moves away from an egocentric approach, creating luminous songs from dark material. Inspired by the story of Elaha, an Afghan teenager, and the death of her friend Julien Bony, the album reflects a dance between reality and fiction, aiming to find hope and transformation in the face of climatic and ecological challenges.
