This is the story of "Icare," the Franco-British artist's fifth studio album. And it's rich in firsts, new challenges, unprecedented encounters, and more flexible methods. Such as, for example, releasing this album completely independently, with no advice to follow or opinions to consider, entrusting distribution solely to [PIAS]. Such as, for example, choosing as a pledge of freedom, the production of an Englishman, John Parish, whose service record, or even disservice, makes Emily dream, from PJ Harvey to Aldous Harding. Finally, for example, it's about putting Emily's well-behaved piano through rough rock guitar effects pedals. But rules had to be broken, decorum shattered: the world demanded it. There's therefore a clean slate aspect to Icare, and Emily Loizeau didn't hesitate to smash the china, comfort, and habits in this liberating process.
