Noticed at the Transmusicales de Rennes in December 2016, before winning the Printemps de Bourges Award in April, young Eddy de Pretto brings a fresh breath to the new French music scene. Hailing from Créteil, he cites Frank Ocean, Kanye West, and Claude Nougaro among his influences. He explores unknown territories where themes and sounds borrowed from rap compete with the big names of French chanson. His unfiltered, harsh, and sexual lyrics evoke nightlife, partying, and drugs without any artifice. Eddy de Pretto represents French chanson taking a step aside, and French rap no longer afraid to be sensitive, to become conscious again. After a long tour in France, Belgium, and Switzerland in 2017, Eddy was nominated for the Victoires de la Musique 2018 in the "stage revelation" category. His first album, produced by Kyu Steed & Haze (Booba, PNL, Action Bronson, MHD...) will be released on March 2, 2018.
