In July 1973, Blue Note Records went to Montreux, Switzerland, to present several label stars at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Bobby Hutcherson, Ronnie Foster, Bobbi Humphrey, and Marlena Shaw each released a live album following their performance, all titled 'Live: Cookin' with Blue Note at Montreux'. Now, nearly 50 years later, this recording of the great trumpeter's dynamic ensemble will be officially released for the very first time on what would have been Byrd's 90th birthday: December 9th.
