Steeped in 90s rock, Alex (Zenzile, Glass), Ben (Last Time Voodoo), Cam, and Etienne (Daria, L.A.N.E) broke away from their respective bands to form Do Not Machine in 2018. After a handful of concerts in 2019, the band composed ten songs for their first album. Due to the Covid period, it was self-recorded at home before the tracks crossed the Atlantic to be mixed by J. Robbins (Jawbox, Burning Airlines, Government Issue) at his MagPie Cage Studio.
