To celebrate the 40th anniversary of !K7, one of Koze's flagship records, his DJ-Kicks, is reissued on a magnificent orange 2LP with a brand new playing card. During the 70-minute journey, Kosi Kos manages to establish a uniform color even though the genres alternate in a way rarely heard on a mix CD: Madlib's stripped-down hip-hop, Berghain's brutalist techno, timeless songwriting, floating indie-pop and atypical numbers that oscillate between absurdity and melancholy. Koze's respect for the stylistic yoke presents him with an immense challenge.
