It is also their first album in 12 years.HypercaffiumSpazzinate was announced in 2010, during a concert at the Fun Fun Fun Fest in 2010.When they weren't getting together to work on the album, singer Milo Aukerman, bassist Karl Alvarez, drummer and DESCENDENTS founder Bill Stevenson, and guitarist Stephen Egerton were preparing the album remotely, from all over the United States. It took them over three years to finalize this new opus. The choice to compose over such a long period is just proof of their desire not to rush things, and to release a strong and solid album.
