HUMBLE AFRICAN

Description

Culture is one of the best Jamaican Roots Reggae groups, on par with Burning Spear, Israel Vibration, The Abyssinians, and Morgan Heritage. Founded in 1976 by Joseph Hill (January 22, 1949 - August 19, 2006), Albert Walker, and Kenneth Dayes, it is the only Reggae group to have produced multiple albums that received 5 stars in the first edition of the Rolling Stone Record Guide. The lyrics are heavily influenced by the Rastafari movement and Africa. The album "Humble African," produced by Lynford 'Fatta' Marshall & Collin 'Bulby' York with Sly and Robbie, demonstrated upon its release in 2000 that the group was indeed at the forefront of the Roots Revival. Finally available on Vinyl. A legendary album released in 2000. Featuring Marcia Griffiths, Morgan Heritage, and Tony Rebel.
