Common, the celebrated rapper, activist, actor, and New York Times best-selling author, and multi-award winner (Grammy, Emmy, and Oscar), was inspired to create two EPs of what he calls "Music in Motion." This is music created to uplift, heal, and inspire anyone facing racial and social injustices.
A Beautiful Revolution Pt 1 is the first EP of this new musical project. It features collaborations with musicians Robert Glasper (keyboards), Karriem Riggins (drums), Burniss Travis (bass), Isaiah Sharkey (guitar), and PJ (vocals). There are also prestigious guests such as Lenny Kravitz and Stevie Wonder. This project: "It's like an affirmation, a recognition, an elevation. Because in reality, there is still a long way to go [...]. This is the beginning of a new movement that will endure even after November 3 (the day of the American elections)," says Common.
