To celebrate the 10th anniversary of YOUTH, Citizen and Run For Cover Records have teamed up to dust off the band's debut album. Since its initial release in 2013, the songs that make up the tracklist of Youth have become staples of mixtapes, playlists, and compilations for diggers searching for what feels like a long-lost feeling in alternative music. YOUTH draws from the tempo of grunge, the hazy reverb of shoegaze, and the catharsis of emo to create something deeply personal and profound. Songs like "Roam the Room," which opens the album, and "The Summer" have sparked thousands of mosh pits at concerts, while pensive, somber tracks like "Figure You Out" and "Sleep" offer brief downtempo breaks with blissful melodies. YOUTH also includes Citizen's two most popular songs. "The Night I Drove Alone" starts with an isolated guitar before exploding mid-song into a deluge of music, while "How Does It Feel?" incorporates dreamy shoegaze elements into a dark mid-tempo wall of sound. New additions to the vinyl include a die-cut sleeve, a new interpretation of the album's classic floral artwork by artist Mike Adams. There is also a printed inner sleeve, photos from the era, lyrics, and new liner notes. This updated version of Citizen's debut album pays homage to a landmark record for the band and places it in the context of their ever-evolving discography. Pressed on orange vinyl.
