Peace in Africa
Description
Singer, songwriter, composer and performer from Senegal, Cheikh Ibra Fam is known in his country as 'Freestyle' and as the current singer of the famous Senegalese jazz-afro-Cuban group Orchestra Baobab. Now signed to the French label Soulbeats Records, the artist offers a first afro-pop album under his own name, to be released internationally on LP and CD, 'Peace In Africa', a vibrant blend of varied sounds: from African rhythms to Ibero-American music, from groove to funk, through soul and urban music. In this album, Cheikh Ibra Fam sings in his native languages, Wolof and Bambara, but also in English and French. To write and compose, he draws inspiration from everything around him, from life, love, social affairs and justice, and above all from everything concerning his continent, especially peace and progress for Africa. 'Peace in Africa' was recorded between Gambia, Senegal, France and Réunion and includes beautiful features with well-known international Senegalese artists: Balla Sidibé (Orchestra Baobab) and Cheikh Lô. The track "The Future" was the last song recorded by the legendary maestro Sidibé, a founding member of Orchestra Baobab, before his sudden death a few days later. The Cape Verdean diva Mo'Kalamity is also part of this very diverse album.Buy Peace in Africa at the best price
